Fifty years of the UK’s Alfa Romeo Owners’ Club will be marked at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground and Airfield on Sunday 11th May when the club celebrates its Golden Jubilee. Events at Bruntingthorpe are part of a two-day extravaganza that starts on Saturday 10th with a ‘park-and-polish’ concourse meet at Boughton House in Kettering.
Up to 300 Alfa Romeos representing almost all the various models are expected at Bruntingthorpe including pre-war models and the sporty new C4 launched last year. The C4 has yet to be delivered to enthusiasts in the UK who have placed orders for the 1.7-litre turbocharged coupe. “We really hope to have the C4 on display,” says Nick Wright, manager of the AROC and event organiser. “It is due to join us.”
As well as Alfa owners, members of the public will be admitted to the Bruntingthorpe event where there will be parade laps of Alfa Romeos, trade stands and several attractions, including the site’s karting circuit for Alfa owners who fancy some real excitement.
“We’re really looking forward to celebrating what is an important milestone in the history of Alfa Romeo in the UK,” says Mr Wright. “We looked at several venues for the Sunday event and chose Bruntingthorpe because of its central location, ample space and extremely flexible attitude toward our requirements.”
Angela Birchall, events manager at Bruntingthorpe, says: “Our extensive facilities accommodate all that the AROC required to celebrate its Golden Jubilee and we are delighted to be part of that occasion. It’s particularly nice that members of the public who have an interest in Alfa Romeos are being allowed to attend what promises to be an amazing gathering of this fine Italian marque.”This entry was posted in Latest, Upcoming Events.
