The examples shown below represent only a very small selection of the events we have supported over the years. They are simply intended to whet the appetite and to illustrate the breadth of events that can be undertaken at Bruntingthorpe. We pride ourselves on being a unique venue with a truly ‘can do’ attitude.
Big Thunder team building
A compressor company requested a Big Thunder hospitality day as they wanted to lay on a team building event for a number of their own staff. Big Thunder days are equally applicable for both team building or corporate hospitality events so accommodating this particular event was no problem at all. A day of driving karts, Ferrari’s, Ariel Atoms and 4×4’s proved a huge success for the client.
Driver of the Year
Arla Foods are just one of the many companies who use the extensive facilities at Bruntingthorpe to provide an annual competition for their fleet truck drivers. Bruntingthorpe not only provide the facilities but also support the running of the event directly. To supplement this, guest activities including hovercrafting, segway racing, archery and shooting are also provided by our Big Thunder corporate hospitality company to help make the day a regular huge success.
Two hundred fans of top British rock band, Kasabian, experienced one of Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground’s many assets when the Leicester-based group organised a surprise secret gig aboard one of the former USAAF base’s historic aircraft on the eve of releasing their fourth album. They used the shell of a stripped out Boeing 747 for the gig in order to provide a unique venue and experience for their lucky fans
Seeing Is Believing
Seeing is Believing is a major 2-3 day traffic and highways exhibition that uses not only the large exhibition hall, but also the 4.2 mile test track as an external exhibition area. The event is used by the highways industry as an event where the full range of products and services can be seen, touched, demonstrated and assessed in real world environments and conditions.
ASDA Family Day
The annual ASDA Family Day, or the ‘On Your Marks’ event as it also known, is a perfect illustration of the flexibility of the site. The day attracts well over 10,000 people over the course of this charity event which has so far raised over £300,000 for charitable causes. The event utilises the extensive Bruntingthorpe site and test tracks to provide driving experiences, a funfair, stunt driving demonstrations, an airshow and many other attractions for the ASDA employees.
